WYD so far

Hola! Sorry for the lack of content but eventhough we have free Wifi here, our days have usually started at about 6 am an finishing after midnight. Right now it is about 1 am so bear with me.
TUESDAY
Australian gathering. I was the Queensland representative for the veneration of the WYD cross and icon, which was an amazing experience. The gathering itself was incredible. It was hosted at this massive sports stadium, capable of holding 15,000 people. There were about 4,000 Aussies there. The opening mass was a bit of a let down as there were too many people for us to even get close. Most of us left a bit early to go to this concert at the English speaking hub, the place we had the Australian gathering.
WEDNESDAY
Chatecesis. After mass we went to the English hub, known as the Love and Life centre, to listen to Curtis Martin and some other speakers.
THURSDAY
Chatecesis. Mass after was amazing in the LaL centre, with a choir, string quartet and organ doing plainchant for mass with the Bishop. We listened to a bit of a panel on Theology of the Body with Jason Everett. We then left for the Papal arrival. We got a reasonable spot, but had to wait 4 hours in the sun to get it.
FRIDAY
Finally, today. We split up for Chatecesis, and mostly stayed separate for the whole day. Paul and I (Liam) went to some panels on media in the Church today, then looked at the vocations expo in Retiro park. We headed back to the LaL centre to watch the Way of the Cross from there.

Ok, that is a very brief overview of WYD so far. We go on the pilgrimage walk tomorrow.
Good morning :-)

We have collected our WYD backpacks and travel passes. We hope to return to Famvin this evening for the closing festivities.

Paris Day 2

Hi all
our second day in paris was even more amazing then our first. I found today a lot more spirtual then yesterday. We visted the incorrpt heart of st vincent de paul and the incorrput heart of cathrine la borne when we arrived mass had just started so we all got the privalige of attending mass here which was something special. Afterward we went to the st vincent de paul church where the bones of st vincent de paul are kept in a wax figure. and we also went to the church where Fredrick oznam was burried unfortunatly there were no nuns or preists who could take us to his grave site but it was still so amazing just being there. Afterward we had some free time in which myself, chantell, virgina, tom and moses had crepes and the best sorbet of ,my life we all wondered the city for a while. kaylene alex and steph all rented bikes and used there pedal power to get backto the hotel on time meanwhile katt deb and tyrone manged to get kinda lost trying to find a metro station but some of us have mastered the metro already. anyways the  french keybored is driving me crazy so thats all for now please excuse the typos i sware it the keybored and the late night typing; ( Neil, mum and the kids, paris is amazing i dont think im coming back :) love you all )

More on Paris

Wow! It has been quite a day here in Paris. (Please bear with me on any typos, the keyboard I am using is French, with the top line starting AZERTY...?) We are just about to head off on our afternoon tour of the city, including a tour of Sacra Cour and the Eiffel Tower. This morning we were taken on an orientation tour of Paris, with a half hour visit to the Cathederal of Notra Dame. What a morning!
On another note, this morning I promised more info on why the flight here was very good. Well, just before take off from Singapore, the Steward came to the back where we were siting and told everyone that after take off, they could move up the fron, as the whole front section was completely empty! Of course, most of us took hi, up on that offer, and alot of us ended up with three or four seats to lie down on. As a result, most of us slept very well for a couple of hours, and spent the rest of the time comfortabley. Everyone agreed that God was realy looking after us on that flight!
OK, got to go,
God Bless

We're off!

It's official! we are now off on our Vinnies 'Journey of a Lifetime'. We are now waiting to board our plane from Singapore to Paris. Our flight here was uneventful (Nathan: same as for David :) and after a slightly bumpy landing we arrived alright. We get to Paris about 7:00 am tomorrow local time (GMT +1) ready for a big day!
Yours in Christ,
Liam, Vinnies Pilgrim
